I want to take a moment and introduce you to the new Principal at Janet Metcalfe PS. Our newest Maverick is Krista Mohr Beamish and she is absolutely FABULOUS!!! I know that our wonderful community will make her feel incredibly welcome. Ms. Mohr has shared the following to introduce herself to all of you!

Hello Maverick Families,

I am so excited to be joining this great family of staff, students and community members at Janet Metcalfe!

My name is Krista Mohr Beamish and I prefer to be called “Ms. Mohr” at school. I grew up in New Hamburg, Ontario and was a student in WRDSB schools for both my elementary and secondary education. I started teaching in the TVDSB over 20 years ago, and was a teacher and department head for 18 years before I became a Vice Principal in Waterloo Region. I was a Vice Principal at both Hespeler Public School and Clemens Mill Public School before becoming the proud Principal at Empire Public School in 2017. I am excited to join the incredible team at Janet Metcalfe Public School on Monday as your new principal.

I am a mother of two, my son is in grade 8 and my daughter is in grade 10. We love to travel as a family and spend lots of time outdoors- hiking, boating, paddleboarding, swimming, downhill skiing, and walking our dog Chance.

I look forward to getting to learn more about this school community and working together with parents and families as partners in your child’s education!
