WRDSB shared today that School Day is not functioning. See more info here. This means that students in WRDSB schools, including Janet Metcalfe, will not find out their teacher until they arrive Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday morning, at Janet Metcalfe, Kindergarten students will be greeted by their educators at the Kindergarten Play Area off Armand St. Please consider putting a first name and last initial label on their person or backpack.
Walking students should arrive by 9:05am, as close to our bell time as possible. This is when supervision begins and when our staff will be outside assisting students in finding their teachers and homeroom meetings areas.

- All Kindergarten Students – Kindergarten Area (i.e., Use Appropriate Gate)
- All French Immersion Students – Meet In The Library (i.e., Use Front Entry Doors)
- All Grade 8 Students – On Soccer Field
- All Grade 7 Students – On Tarmac Area
- All Grade 4, 5, 6 Students – Enter Through Gym A Doors
- All Grade 1, 2, 3 Students – Enter Through Gym B Doors

We ask that only one adult caregiver come to school on Tuesday to minimize congestion on school grounds.. We also ask that all canine family members say goodbye to students at home. Thank you for respecting our no dogs rule on school grounds.
We look forward to seeing you Tuesday, September 6th at 9:05am. We hope that students and families are feeling excitement, anticipation and hope about starting a brand new school year here at Janet Metcalfe- the best school in the universe!
Our office is closed Monday due to Labour Day. Our office opens at 8:30am on Tuesday.
